Francisville Homes For Sale

Where Is Francisville?

Francisville is located in the 19130 zip code, making up Broad Street to the east and Corinthian Avenue to the west, and Fairmount to Girard avenues running north to south.

Bars, Restaurants & Dining

Francisville shares much of its food and nightlife culture with Fairmount, supplementing with a few gems of its own.

Residents will find the heart of the dining scene along Fairmount Avenue, featuring long-time staples like OCF Coffeehouse, a sprawling cafe space with a garage door ideal for brisk spring days; Philly Flavors, a local soft-serve ice cream shop with creamy concoctions like the Philly Blast; and London Grill, a more refined American pub that nails classic cocktails, burgers and, in the summertime, lobster.

On the eastern stretch of West Fairmount Avenue, in Francisville, is Rybread, where sandwich lovers can find high-quality, huge sandwiches named after similarly huge cities – Denver, Los Angeles and, of course, Philadelphia. Quaint neighborhood spot Vineyards Cafe serves up crepes, cookies and coffee, and is notably one of the few places in the city you’ll find a true macchiato.

For a cheese board and local brew in a hip urban setting, Bar Hygge scratches the itch, with Gin & Pop as a destination for gin-infused cocktails in a steampunk environment.

Attractions, Landmarks & Parks

Francisville Playground offers all the desired monkey-bars-and-swingset attractions, only with the added perk of the Francisville Recreation Center, which contains an outdoor public pool, two basketball courts and a ballfield.

Of course, Francisville is also conveniently located adjacent to Eastern State Penitentiary museum and haunted house, and is a short northward trek to Temple University and all its own historic landmarks, concert venues, library and more.

School Districts

Philadelphia School District students in the 19130 zip code attend the Martin Bache School for kindergarten through eighth grade, as well as Benjamin Franklin High School for ninth through 12th grades. Kids may also attend Franklin Learning Center, formerly William Penn High School for Girls, which features an interdisciplinary program emphasizing computer science, the arts and business administration.

Francisville is also home to the St. Joseph’s Preparatory School, a 160-year old catholic boys high school, and the Julia R. Masterman School, a magnet school recognized as one of Pennsylvania’s top public schools.

Shopping

Francisville’s nearest all-encompassing supermarkets are the 1800s-originated and still-family-owned Klein’s Supermarket on the western end of Fairmount Avenue and a newly opened Whole Foods – mammoth in size, truly – located below Spring Garden Avenue, adjacent to Benjamin Franklin Parkway. There is also a Fresh Grocer on North Broad Street, just a few blocks north of the neighborhood’s boundary at Broad Street and Girard Avenue; a CVS also operates at Broad Street and Girard Avenue.

For a smaller, local market experience, Tela’s sells meat from local butchers and seasonal produce sourced from surrounding counties. The market also keeps an intentionally simple-and-clean breakfast and dinner menu using many of the same ingredients it sells in-store.

There are also a handful of delightful shops in the neighborhood, including Flower & Balloon Boutique, PNKElephant women’s boutique and apparel-heavy thrift shop HomeSpun.
